Invitation to Participate
We are excited to announce the launch of the inaugural Avantgarde Award competition and invite you to participate. The SoCal Chapter of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce is establishing this award to recognize individuals, corporations or other organizations with a Swiss-American business angle for their inspirational achievements and contributions to their communities and the Southern California and/or Swiss economy.
The winner’s will be announced at our annual Avantgarde Gala on October 21, 2023.

How does the Award work?
We are looking to recognize organizations who further the Swiss-American business relationships in an forward-looking, innovative and impactful way. Our evaluation of submissions will include the following criteria:
Who will determine the winner?
The winner of the Avantgarde Award will be determined by a jury consisting of a panel of industry, governmental agencies and academic experts from Switzerland and the United States, including jurors from the University of Southern California and (USC) and the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETHZ).
After an initial evaluation, up to five shortlisted nominees will be announced. These finalists will have the opportunity to present their submission to the jury and answer questions in a live format. The winner and runner-up will be invited to the award ceremony at the Avantgarde Gala.

How does the Award work?

- Demonstrated adoption or creation of technology and innovation
- Job creation
- Economic performance (revenue generation)
- Social performance
- Commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG)
- Commitment to diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI)

Submission details
- Participants must register with SACCSoCal and will then receive a package detailing the submission requirements
- Submission deadline is August 31, 2023
